Suana heater controls appear to have malfunctioned by the timer not shuting off. Electrical wiring above the ceiling appeared blackened. A Electrical contractor has been called to check the wiring. | |
12/06/2018 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | Called by communication that T.F.D. on site with a building fire. Arrived and the units were still on site and checking for hot spots. The units were cleaning up and the fire investigator were on site checking for cause. Appears that the sauna was left on or the switch was not able to turn off properly. It appears that the sauna was on all night. The fire was in the area of the control of the sauna. The fire was in the wood frame wall and started to go up into the ceiling area. The fire did not get into the attic area and some of the tiles in the drop ceiling were removed to check for fire in the attic. Some of the wiring for lighting has to be check due to has some heat damage on the outer portion of the cabel wiring. Some of the insulation has buring and some smoke damage. Will need to clean the area and the building to remain closed until the area has been cleaned. The owner signed the paperwork and will be securing the site once the area has been checked by the electrician. The building is up for demo in 6-months and the plans are in for approval. The area may be blocked off and not repaired. RV. |
