| 10/27/2017 | TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION | Continued | When I arrived onsite crews from APL were working on a patch in Rosemont. The patch was filled with sand and I found out that CalPortland had delivered the wrong product the day prior. Instead of pouring concrete they were sent bedding sand. They had to remove the sand and pour back 8" of concrete under the patch. Initially they wanted to do a 3" lift of asphalt on top of the patch but I did not feel like that would give the concrete enough time to cure (even with an accelerator) so I called Pete C and he came out to the site. We told APL that they could not lay asphalt today and would have to steel plate the area and do the asphalt at a later time so that the concrete can cure properly. |
