Date Description Inspector Results Comments
01/10/2018 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Approved Work completed area looks good.
11/09/2017 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Continued No work.
11/08/2017 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Continued Inspected new sidewalk and driveway off of Leonora for the new Graze burger that was poured on Monday 11/6. All sidewalk meets the standard with less that 2% cross slope and a running slope well under 5%. Crews also poured a concrete collar around a light pole handhole off of Broadway which was acceptable. On the driveway I had a question about the match with the pavement on Leonora, I took photos and will ask Pete about that area.
11/06/2017 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Continued Checked the sidewalk forms and grade, both were accepted. I also checked my smart level against the contractor's, mine was showing consistently .2% under the contractor's. I reminded Rod that he needs to pour a concrete collar around a street light handhole along Broadway. Rod also called a few times throughout the day to get some clarification; they poured the concrete at 9:30a.
11/03/2017 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Continued Crews removed 3 rejected panels of concrete sidewalk and forming new sidewalk on Leonora; will pour on Monday. Additionally, I informed Rod (foreman) that they will need to pour a 6" concrete collar around a street lighting handhole along Broadway in the dirt buffer area.
11/02/2017 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Continued No work; inspected the sidewalk that was poured previously and 3 panels are rejected due to cross-slopes which exceed 2.3%. I informed Rod (concrete sub) and he will have those panels removed and replaced by the next time the pour.
10/27/2017 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Continued Met with Rod and discussed making a change on the west side of property (along Beverly); changing ramp into a straight sidewalk to match the sidewalk along the Broadway because there was almost no elevation change (0.4%) between the sidewalk forms and the depressed curb to make a ramp necessary. Otherwise, the forms were approved to pour.
10/26/2017 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Continued Spoke with Rod (foreman); they were in the middle of their pour when I arrived. Pouring (Vulcan) one directional WCR, sidewalk and other concrete work out of the ROW. Rod had some questions about staking and had his survey crew onsite. I let him know he needed a minimum 3' dirt buffer area between EOP and his sidewalk on the Leonora side of the property. Additionally, I helped him with the specs for another WCR that he will be pouring at a later date. I reminded him that he will need to get his permit renewed as well. I will check back tomorrow to check the final product of today's work.
10/26/2017 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Continued Graze Burger; spoke with Rod (concrete super) and they are planning to pour the last WCR and sidewalk tomorrow. Will stop by tomorrow to inspect the grade before they pour. Also, I let him know that they will need to get their permit renewed as it expires on 10/28 and their work will no be complete at that time.
10/26/2017 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Continued Graze burger; met with Rod; owners of the property are making revisions to the driveway on Leonora, this will require a new permit or amendment to current permit. Also reminded him that his current permit will need to be renewed. They may have another concrete pour tomorrow, will notify me later. I also went over the specs with him for the remaining WCR on the site.
