Date Description Inspector Results Comments
01/18/2018 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Approved Work completed, area looks good.
10/31/2017 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Continued SWG/NPL job, crews setting 3"-4" depth hot asphalt patches for 7 potholes at the intersection of Grant and Tanque Verde. Crews patching starting from EB Grant to WB Tanque Verde to EB Tanque Verde. Checked back in later in the day and all of the patches were complete and traffic control was being removed. Even though these are hot asphalt patches they ARE NOT the final patches as NPL crews will be back after the New Year to complete this job.
10/30/2017 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Continued SWG/NPL permit; met with Adrian (NPL foreman) and Angel (SWG inpsector) to discuss the project's hiatus. They will be pulling off the job this week and return after the holiday season, early next year. They currently have 7 patches at the intersection of Grant and Tanque Verde that they will need to patch before the hiatus. Four patches on EB Tanque Verde and 2 on EB Grant will need a 3" hot asphalt lift and one patch on the WB Tanque Verde turn lane (into Albertson's) can be patched with cold patch. Crews from NPL will be patching these tomorrow with approved 24 hour traffic control. NPL and SWG understand that these patches will ALL have to be properly patched when they revisit the project next year (even if they do no re-enter the holes). We also discussed a panel of concrete that will need to be replaced on Cmo Principal and Tanque Verde.
10/27/2017 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Continued No work. Called Adrian (NPL foreman); crews will be back out on Monday. They will be pulling off the job and I will meet with them on Monday to discuss the plans for patching the area until they return to work. This is a major intersection so cold mix will not be acceptable as a temporary patch.
10/25/2017 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Continued SWG/NPL permit; spoke with Adrian (NPL) and another NPL super and they are having trouble finding the 90 degree joint in the gas line on T/V west of the intersection at Kolb. Also, they are now thinking the box they were going to place on Grant will now have to be farther west than they initially thought. Since Grant in under a moratorium, this will mean that the permanent patch for this cut will have to be taken out an additional 50'. I also let them know that if they need additional lane closures that they will have to amend their permit to reflect the changes in traffic control.
10/25/2017 TDOT-EXCAV GENERAL INSPECTION Continued No workers present. Called and spoke with NPL foreman Adrian, they are taking the day to re-examine their plan for this project and will be back onsite later in the week. I let him know that they needed to send a crew out or contact NBC to pickup some VPs that had fallen over in the project area.
