The new cabinet would be an electronic message center (EMC), compared with the static lit cabinet now. The property is a self-contained premises, which is allowed a maximum freestanding sign size of 32 square feet. The proposal to replace the existing cabinet to 50 square feet requires a variance. Note, sign height is taken at 9'2" from parking lot south of the sign to the top of the sign cabinet (per inspection 6/12/17). The sign is greater than 40' setback from Golf Links, thus the grade is the lowest point of a finished surface within 20' radius of the sign (parking lot). Any approved replacement cabinet would need to be a maximum of 10' height as taken from the parking lot. Variance: 3-77C.5.b. -exceed the size of a freestanding sign cabinet for a self-contained premise by 18 square feet; to allow up to 50 square feet of cabinet area. |
