| 09/15/2016 | FIRE INSP - STATE LICENSE | Denied | TFC 907.8 Inspection Testing and Maintenance. The maintenance and testing schedules and procedures for fire alarm and fire detection systems shall be in accordance with Sections 907.8.1 through 907.8.5 and NFPA 72. 1. The Fire Alarm annual inspection/test/maintenance shall be performed and an accounting of all initiating and notification devices on the premises shall be submitted upon reinspection. TFC 907.6.5 Monitoring. Fire alarm systems required by this code or by the International Building Code shall be monitored by an approved supervising station in accordance with NFPA 72 TFC 605.5 Extension cords. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords shall be used only with portable appliances. 1. Remove extension cord in office that is supplying power to the power strip. The Power strip shall be plugged directly into a dedicated power supply (outlet) per TFC 605.4.2 2. Remove extension cord powering washer in laundry room. TFC 605.4 Multiplug adapters. Multiplug adapters, such as cube adapters, unfused plug strips or any other device not complying with NFPA 70 shall be prohibited. 1. Remove cube adapter connected to extension cord that is powering the washing machine. TFC 605.1 Abatement of electrical hazards. Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. 1. One outlet in the office is improperly grounded with a wire coming out of the outlet. You shall have a certified electrician abate this hazard. TFC 1030.3 Obstructions. The means of egress shall be free of obstructions that would prevent its use. 1. The shifting of the floor in the laundry room has caused the door to the exterior to be obstructed from opening more than ΒΌ of its full swing capacity. You shall cause the door to open and close without obstruction. TFC 304.1 Waste accumulation prohibited. Combustible waste-material creating a fire hazard shall not be allowed to accumulate in buildings or structures or upon premises. 1. You shall remove combustible waste behind washer and dryer. TFC 315.3.3 Equipment rooms. Combustible material shall not be stored in boiler rooms, mechanical rooms or electrical equipment rooms. 1. You shall remove all items stored in your hot water heater rooms. TFC 1008.1.9.4 Bolt locks. Manually operated flush bolts or surface bolts are not permitted. 1. You shall remove all surface mounted bolt locks on doors (not split doors where the upper portion is secured to the lower portion with a slide bolt) that secure the door from opening. (bathrooms off of office, school agers storage closet and bathroom, school age house door). TFC 1015.6 Day care means of egress. Day care facilities, rooms or spaces where care is provided for more than 10 children that are 21/2 years of age or less, shall have access to not less than two exits or exit access doorways. 1. All rooms shall have the occupancy posted, and based on the above code must have more than one exit from that individual room when the occupancy exceeds 10 children. Where a door between classrooms is considered an exit access doorway to another exit door (directly to the outside), those doors will comply with all TFC codes addressing exit doors and locks. TFC 1030.5 Non-exit identification. Where a door is adjacent to, constructed similar to and can be confused with a means of egress door, that door shall be identified with an approved sign that identifies the room name or use of the room. 1. Remove exit sign over door that goes between the "two's" rooms, or that door must meet all TFC codes that regulate exit access and exit doors and locks. There is a keyed locking device on this door that would not be allowed on an exit. If there are more than 10 children in either of the classrooms, the door between the rooms must comply with the previous code, TFC 1015.6. TFC 907.8.1 Maintenance required. Whenever required for compliance with the provisions of this code, devices, equipment systems, conditions, arrangements, levels of protection or other features shall thereafter be continuously maintained in accordance with applicable NFPA requirements or as directed by the fire code official. 1. The broken pull station in infant's room shall be repaired or replaced by a qualified person in accordance with NFPA 72. TFC 906.6 Unapproved Conditions. Open junction boxes and open-wiring splices shall be prohibited. Approved covers shall be provided for all switch and electrical outlet boxes. 1. Repair/replace broken outlet cover in classroom connected to the kitchen and in school age house. TFC 1008.1.9 Door operations. Except as specifically permitted by this section egress doors shall be readily open-able from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort. & TFC 1008.1.9.5 Unlatching. The unlatching of any door or leaf shall not require more than one operation. 1. West exit door from school agers room has keyed lock and more than one locking mechanism. This door has an exit sign over it and is a required exit. You may have one locking mechanism on this door that does not require a key or more than one motion to unlock 2. The gate to the West outside the school agers West exit door has more than one lock and surface mounted slide bolt. This gate shall not require special knowledge to exit to the public way and shall have 1 method of unlatching that does not require the use of special knowledge or a key. TFC 1006.1 Illumination required. The means of egress, including the exit discharge, shall be illuminated at all times the building space served by the means of egress is occupied 1.
