03/09/2017 FIRE INSP - STATE LICENSE Denied 2012 IFC 907.6.5 Monitoring. Fire alarm systems required by this chapter or by the International Building Code shall be monitored by an approved supervising station in accordance with NFPA 72.
1) You shall provide proof of your alarm system being monitored by a UL Listed or FM approved Central Station.

2012 IFC 605.5 Extension cords. Extension cords and flexible cords
shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental
damage or physical impact. Extension cords shall be used only with portable appliances.
1) Remove the two extension cords that are powering power strips in the office.

2012 IFC 1006.1 Illumination required. The means of egress, including
the exit discharge, shall be illuminated at all times the
building space served by the means of egress is occupied.
1) You shall cause your emergency lighting through out to be operative at all times. Currently the emergency light in the office is not working.

2012 IFC 1008.1.9.5 Unlatching. The unlatching of any door or
leaf shall not require more than one operation.
1) You shall only have one method of unlatching the exit from Room 'C'. Currently, there is a deadbolt and a handle with a quarter lock on it.

2012 IFC 703.1 Maintenance. The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction (including walls, fire stops, shaft enclosures,




partitions, smoke barriers, floors, fire-resistive coatings and sprayed fire-resistant materials applied to structural members and fire-resistant joint systems) shall be
maintained.
1) You shall repair the wall in the hallway where the thermostat has been placed. Currently a portion of the wall has been cut away to accommodate the shape/placement of the thermostat.

2012 IFC 605.6 Unapproved conditions. Open junction boxes and
open-wiring splices shall be prohibited. Approved covers shall be provided for all switch and electrical outlet boxes.
1) You shall remove the extension cord that is rigged in cantex rigid PVC and penetrating an exterior wall to power a water fountain.
2) You shall repair/replace the broken outlet in room 'D'.
3) You shall repair/replace the loose plate over old swamp cooler controller that exposes wires.
4) There is a broken outlet on the wall near the exit.
5) The lights in the portable classroom flicker off when turned on. You shall have a licensed electrician address this and the need for electrical wiring to the exterior water fountain.

2012 IFC 407.2 Material Safety Data Sheets. Material Safety Data
Sheets (MSDS) for all hazardous materials shall be either readily available on the premises as a paper copy, or where approved, shall be permitted to be readily retrievable by electronic access.
1) You shall keep an MSDS book available with all cleaners and chemicals used and kept on the property. Currently you have Motor Vehicle Oil, Battery Fluid, Brake Cleaner and Antifreeze in your office on a shelf, and other cleaning chemicals in the kitchen and storage areas.
