Fire alarm systems required by this chapter or by the International Building Code shall be monitored by an approved supervising station in accordance with NFPA 72. 1) Your fire alarm system shall be monitored by an approved Fire Central Station that is UL or FM listed. 2012 IFC 1006.1 Illumination required. The means of egress, including the exit discharge, shall be illuminated at all times the building space served by the means of egress is occupied. 1) You shall cause your emergency lighting in your reception to operate upon building loss of power. 2012 IFC 1008.1.9.3 Locks and latches. Locks and latches shall be permitted to prevent operation of doors where any of the following exists: 1. Extension cords. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. 1) You shall remove flexible cords going through ceiling tiles or walls. 2012 IFC 605.6 Unapproved conditions. Open junction boxes and open-wiring splices shall be prohibited. Approved covers shall be provided for all switch and electrical outlet boxes. 1) You shall replace the broken switch plate in the 'utility room'. 2012 IFC 703.1 Maintenance. The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction (including walls, firestops, shaft enclosures, partitions, smoke barriers, floors, fire-resistive coatings and sprayed fire-resistant materials applied to structural members and fire-resistant joint systems) shall be maintained. 1) You shall repair/replace wall missing in the 'utility room'. 2012 IFC 315.3.3 Equipment rooms. Combustible material shall not be stored in boiler rooms, mechanical rooms or electrical equipment rooms. 1) You shall remove all storage of combustibles in your 'utility room'. |
