09/16/2017 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | Communication called ther T.F.D. on site with a building fire. Arrived and all the units were still on site. The blowers were on due to the smoke was through out the interior of the building. The fire was around a light fixtures where was chanced to LED lamps. The area was secured with plastic where the area was being abated for Asbestos. The barrier was burned and now the area is opened. 2- sprinkler heads went off that were on both side of the light fixture in the area of the fire. The fire was an opened area going from the 1st floor to the second floor area. There was no structure damage to the building from the fire but had a light fixture that was or has signs of a fire. Have smoke damage by the light fixture and most of the damage was from the water when the sprinkler heads went off. The floor covering is carpet and the owner has called an company to come and extract the water. A company was on site changing the sprinkler head and was still working when I had to leave the site due to another call. The owner signed the paperwork and was talking to the contractor on what needs to be done. The building has a permit for the work that is being done and will check if the added work from the fire can be added to the existing permit. RV. | |
09/16/2017 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | Was called to assist electrical. Found LED lamps have been retrofitted into fixtures. Two of the lamps overheated and started the fire. Fire showed me the LED driver of one of the lamp tubes and it was melted from heat. Found the packaging box and instructions for the lamps. Instructions list 10 types of ballast that are compatible for use with these lamps. Could not verify which ballast are part of these fixtures. Instruction scematic figures show connections with 2 lamps. These fixtures contain 6 lamps. |
