Hi Martin;
I did speak with this gentleman about the porch on the back of their church. He indicated that the support structure for the porch roof had been in place for some time (not sure how long), but they recently decided they wanted to put a roof deck on the structure. I indicated to him that he had two choices: One, they could leave the roof deck on the structure but would have to come down to the City to get a permit for that porch cover; or two, they could remove the roof deck that they had installed, leaving just the support structure, and they would not have to get a permit to do that since it was returning the structure to it's original condition.
