05/27/2017 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved Communication called and T.F.D. on site with water coming out of the ceiling. Arrived and the fire unit was still on site and the water was still dripping from the ceiling. Did go to the upper unit and the toilet had over flowed and flood the bathroom area where the toilet and tub was including the carpet by the sink area. The drywall ceiling in the toilet area had bubbles where the paint was peeling and filled with water. The ceiling in the toilet area and the sink area were dripping with water. The maintenance was on site and was not able to call for someone to extract the water. The manager showed and she ordered the company to come and extract the water. Due to the amount of water coming from the ceiling, the electrical was turned off and the unit was condemned. The light fixtures in the ceiling were filled with water. Did do the posting and the manager left the site and the maintenance man stayed and signed the paperwork. The manager found a place for the tenants to stay at another location and will meet with them tomorrow. Was told that the unit is under Section 8 and called communication to have someone from Section 8 to call me. A person called due to the City of Tucson not owning the building, they would not respond and needed to be address by the landlord who was on site. Will notify Section 8 on Tuesday. The manage was advised that a contractor will need to do the work and that a permit is required. Once the extraction was done left the site. Will check in 10 days. RV.
