The fire started in the bedroom and went through the bathroom and started going into the livingroom. The unit has heavy smoke damage holes in the drywall in walls and ceilings to check for fire, a vent hole was cut in the roof and has trusses that will need to be check when cutting, the electrical was removed at the switch gear due to not able to find a panel to the unit. Did have a panel for the unit and not able to turn that off. The gas was turned off due to has a water heater in the attic area and not able to get to it and check and not sure what type of pilot the water heater has. The gas meter was pinned and once the water heater is checked, the gas can be turned back on. The unit has been condemned due to the fire damage and lacking utilities. The management is securing the unit. The fire units were called to the site due to finding smoke coming from the closet area and going into the attic area. While leaving the site the Redcross came to the site to check the unit that burned. 05/26/2017 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved Visited the site to try to determine how electric is fed to the building. This building has been installed with the old feed thru panels. It appears that the first panel has multiple taps for additional feeds to pass thru to the other units as per oringinal design. An Electrical Contractor will be needed to isolate the pass thrus's to be able to reenergize the unaffected units. Spoke to the owner and he will have the contractor call us. Owners electrician is on site doing the isolation taps.
