05/17/2017 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved Was called by T.P.D. to the site due to electrical issues. Arrived with inspector Hollander and found electrical work being done on all the units. The rear buildings were all getting new feeds to the sub-panels and romex to lighting and other panels to feed other panels. The wiring was secured with clamps but not rated for exterior use. New conduit is being installed through out to all the units to have all new power feeding the sub-panels through out. Did check all the areas where the wire splices were done and checked some of the connections to the panels. The front units has also been placed on temporary wiring and none of the existing wiring exist. Most of the conduit for the existing has all been removed except where the laundry room is located. All the existing electrical wiring has been removed At this time the building offical has been called on the condition of the new temporary wiring and Rick Hollander has inspected the temporary install and was decided that the work done so far is OK. Did do a stop work order so all the work is to stop at this time until the permit has been issued. The owner has signed all the paperwork and did go over the issues of the work being done with out the permit. Did also meet with the general contractor due to porches will be replaced with changing all the sheathing, wood posts, wood beams and rafters due to the amount of damaged or weathered. Did find issues with the water heaters and did not check any of the interiors but did check for smoke detectors and found none. Did do posting of the Stop Work Order on windows through out the propertry and the contractor for electrical and the general contractor has been pulled off and left the property. Did let both know that no work to be done until the permit has been issed. Will be getting with supervision on inspection and what will be done. RV.
05/17/2017 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved Met with Inspector Vidal. Determined that NM and SE cables were being ran on the surfaces of the buildings to the units and panels. The electrical contractor explained that the original feeders were arcing and posing a fire risk. He removed all the feeders and was installing temporary until he could run new feeders and circuits. There were no permits obtained. It was determined that the contractor would be responsible for the temp power at this time. A fence was placed around the wires that were low and in reach of persons near the service. Building official was notified of the conditions.
