03/19/2020 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved Has a new tenant and the property has been cleaned of the court order. The addition is completely removed from the mobile home. Did go inside the mobile home and the issues that needed to be addressed have been completed. The tenant is in the process of getting the reconnect for the electrical turned back on. Did look around for the gas meter and the meter is at the neighbors property by the street. The tenant will try and get the gas on and check if the meter can be moved closer to the mobile home with out going into the neighbors property. At this time the case will be closed. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV.
03/05/2020 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved Met with the new tenant that will be moving into the mobile home. Did go over some of the correction that will be required to move in and the electrical and the case back on. The issues were GFCI in the kitchen and bathroom area, covering holes in the walls, the front porch deck needs to be replaced, windows checked and repaired, the AC wall unit is not secured in the bedroom at the rear of the mobile home, steps at the doors, the life line cord matching the outlet and securing the box due to not secured at this time. The tenant will make the repairs and call back when completed. RV.
12/16/2019 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved The property is vacant and secured. The work has been started on the exterior removing the stucco and the work in not completed. The property is not cleaned and has piles of trash and debris through out the property. Still has a camper on the property and a red compact car. Have called the owner of the property and not able to make contact with the tenants. I have not called will try and call the tenants. RV.
10/03/2019 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved The mobile home is vacant and secured. The electrical has been removed at the meter. The water has been left on at this time. Tried to call the owner of the property and not able to make contact. The addition has not been removed and still has items on the property. Has vehicles, a camper, storage, a cooler at the rear that has been placed in a opening is still on the property. Met with the owner last week and he was going to remove the mobile home and the addition. RV.
09/26/2019 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved Went to the property and it was raining at this time. Not able to call T.E.P. to the site to remove power at the pole. RV.
09/24/2019 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved The owner has stated that all the items are moved out and only has a few items left in the house. Nothing in the kitchen area and the refrigerator has been removed from the property. The breaker was turned off at the meter on the neighboring property. Not able to get T.E.P. on site due to other calls from Mondays storm. RV.
07/09/2019 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved Met with the owner and nothing has done on the removing of the addition. Has not started to pack to move out. Did ask the owner on the status of the new house and she stated that she is still working on it. Did get the phone number to call and find out the status of the owner getting the new house. Did call Primavera and talk to a Sara and asked how soon she could get the house. Due to the owner just starting the program, looking at over a year up to over 2-years due to how the owner does on the coarses that are required to quailify to get the house. You have to finsish a coarse inorder to continue to the next coarse. The owner has a meeting at 4:00 today and that is just to go over what is going to be required. Did ask on a rental program and that is a different person and that will from 8-months to over a year due to same issues on the coarses. The owner has not been set up on the coarses yet. Have court today at 10:30. RV.
04/29/2019 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved No one on site and nothing has been done to have the addition removed. The permit T18CM06756 has no action on getting the permit approved or extended. Did talk to the wife and she has been waiting for results. Did explain that we had met with the husband and he was going to remove the structure due to was explained that the material used was under sized and over spaned. The electrical is not able to seperate due to has used some of the circuits from the mobile home. The wife wanted more time and advised that she has past the time that was being allowed. Will be going to court to ask that the electrical be removed or the addition removed. RV.
03/20/2019 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved ON SITE INSPECTION PER COURT ORDER WAS CONDUCTED. MET OWNER OF THE MOBILE HOME. INSPECTED THE ADDITION TO THE MOBILE HOME. ESTIMATE SIZE IS 12 X 40, THE ADDITION IS FINISHED THERE ARE SMALL AREAS UNFINISHED, THE WALL AND ROOF FRAMING MEMBERS ARE 2 X 4 TYPE WITH SHEETROCK AS COVERING. THE LIVING ROOM HAS WALL OUTLETS WITH RECEPTACLES AND SWITCH FOR CEILING LIGHT FIXTURES. THERE ARE WINDOWS IN LIVING ROOM. THERE IS A PORCH IN BETWEEN THE LIVING ROOM AND BEDROOM WITH ROOF RAFTERS WHICH HAVE BORE HOLES FOR THE ROMEX CABLE TO TRAVEL THOUGH AND CONNECT TO THE LIGHT FIXTURE. THE BEDROOM HAS ONE 3 X 3 WINDOW, THERE ARE OUTLETS WITH RECEPTACLES AND SWITCH FOR THE LIGHT FIXTURES. THERE IS A IS A 4 X 8 ROOM WITH A SINK, TOILET AND CLOSET, THIS ROOM HAS WALL OUTLET RECEPTACLE AND AN OVERHEAD LIGHT FIXTURE. THE PLATFORM THIS ADDITION REST ON IS A FRAMED 2 X 4 TYPE GRID SYSTEM WITH 8X8X16 BLOCK PIERS SYSTEM. THE ADDITION HAS TWO OPENINGS ON TO THE MOBILE HOME. THERE IS ONE EXIT DOOR FROM THE BEDROOM AND THE LIVING.
THE ADDITIONS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CONSIST OF ONE BRANCH CIRCUIT WITH A 15 AMP CIRCUIT BREAKER, NUMBER 14 ROMEX WHICH POWERS THE ENTIRE ADDITION. UNDERNEATH THE ADDITION THERE IS NUMBER 12 ROMEX WHICH RUNS THROUGH BROKEN CONDUIT. ONE BRANCH CIRCUIT FOR THE ADDITION IS NOT CODE COMPLAINT, SMOKE DETECTOR, BATHROOM GFCI, WALL OUTLET WOULD REQUIRE EACH THERE OWN CIRCUITS.
THIS ADDITION IS ATTACHED TO THE MOBILE HOME. THERE ARE NO APPROVED PLANS WITH AN ENGINEER STAMP OR PERMITS FOR THIS WORK. THE MOBILE HOME IS A FACTORY BUILT UNIT THEREFORE CAN NOT SUSTAIN ADDITIONAL LOADS. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAS CODE VIOLATION AS FAR A UNAPPROVED WIRING METHODS ALSO THE BEDROOM DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIRED AMOUNT OF WALL RECEPTACLES. THERE ARE NO SMOKE DETECTORS HARDWIRED THE BATHROOM IS ALSO NOT CODE COMPLAINT IT SHARES SPACE WITH A CLOSET. THE BEDROOM WINDOW IS ALSO NOT CODE COMPLAINT IT IS NOT THE REQUIRED 5.7 SQUARE FEET.
CAN NOT DISCONNECT POWER TO THE ADDITION DUE TO THE FAMILY'S BEDROOM IS IN THE ADDITION. TURNING THE POWER OFF WOULD MEAN NO LIGHTING AT NIGHT WHICH WOULD POSE HAZARD CONDITION.
WE DID ADVISE THE OWNER THAT DUE TO THE 2 X 4 TYPE CONSTRUCTION METHODS USED TO BUILD THE ADDITION THIS WOULD NEED MEET CODE REQUIREMENTS, AS FAR AS STRUCTURAL ABILITIES TO CARRY THE DEAD OR LIVE LOADS, ALSO INSULATION REQUIREMENTS.
THIS ALSO APPLIES TO THE PLATFORM FRAMING. LIVE LOADS
THE UNIT IS FINISHED UNABLE TO SEE THE FRAMING MEMBERS OR ELECTRICAL DEVICES AND WIRING METHOD.
WE DID DISCUSSED WITH THE OWNER THAT THE CITY OF TUCSON WILL ASK THE COURTS FOR A DEMO ORDER. THIS ADDITION IS NON CODE COMPLAINT.
03/07/2019 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved ON SITE INSPECTION: PER SUPERVISOR, POSTED COURT ORDER AND A PLACARD STATING ACCESS TO THE UNIT IS REQUIRED ON 3/19/2019. NOBODY HOME. THE MOBILE HOME HAS A POWER SUPPLY CORD CONNECTED TO A RECEPTACLE IN A JUNCTION BOX AT THE EAST SIDE OF THE MOBILE HOME. THE SERVICE LOCATION IS ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE PROPERTY WHICH IS FENCE WITH ANOTHER MOBILE HOME THERE. NO ACCESS. LEFT BUSINESS CARD ON THE FRONT DOOR
02/25/2019 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved 02/25/2019 - Arrived on site after a call from Inspector Vidal. Knocked on door but no answer. Was able to see a large addition on the south side of the trailer. Addition has a front porch area and runs almost the length of the original trailer. Permit is still in applied status as of 02/25/2019
01/14/2019 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved Called and left a message. Did talk to the owner and still working on the drawings. They will take the plans to the court. Still have not submitted for approval. Court tomorrow at 10:00 AM. RV.
10/15/2018 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved The addition is still in place and nothing has been demo'ed. Did meet with the husband and he is trying to get the permit approved. He worked on all day today and is lacking the electrical and the heating and cooling. He is trying to have those by tomorrow and have approved before the court hearing at 10:00 AM. RV.
08/27/2018 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved Went to the site and nothing has been done on the demo of the addition with out permits. No one home and took pictures. No permit has been applied for or issued for the work done with out permits. RV.
04/10/2018 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved Went to the site and nothing has been removed on the addition added. Did talk to the tenant and she is not sure if the addition is going to be removed or get the permit to keep the addition. Do have court on 4-17-18 at 10:30 AM. The tenant does own the mobile home and the owner of the property lives in Lamar, Colorado. Did call the owner and left a message. Did call the person trying to assist on the drawings and has not heard from anyone to do the drawings. RV.
