01/28/2017 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | VISITE SITE, MET WITH TFD INVESTIGATORS WHO STATED OCCUPANT HAD BEEN DRINKING, CAME HOME AND HAD PLACED SOMETHING ON THE STOVE THAT WAS TURNED ON AND STARTED A FIRE IN THE KITCHEN AREA. UPON MY ARRIVAL I FOUND THE STOVE/ RANGE HOOD/ MICROWAVE AND 50 % OF THE CABINETS BURNED. THERE WAS MINOR DRYWALL DAMAGE TO THE CEILING AND PARTING WALL, HEAVY SMOKE DAMAGE THRU OUT THE KITCHEN AND LIVING ROOM. DUE TO THE CONDITION OF THE OCCUPANT AND EXPOSED WIRING IN THE WALL TEP WAS ASKED TO PULL POWER TO THE UNIT. S/W GAS DID APPEAR BUT THERE WAS NO GAS TO THE STRUCTURE. OCCUPANT HAD ALREADY BEEN PLACED IN A UNIT BY MANAGEMENT. ONLY PERSON ON SITE WAS THE MAINTANENCE PERSON WHO LOCKED UP THE UNIT . NOV WAS ISSUED AND SIGNED FOR BY JOSE GARCIA MAINTANENCE. INFORMED JOSE, THAT OCCUPANT COULD ONLY GO INSIDE TO GET PERSONAL ITEMS AND COULD NOT RETURN UNTIL ALL REPAIRS TO THE UNIT WERE COMPLETED. JOSE GARCIA LOCKED THE UNIT WHEN INSPECTION WAS DONE. BOARDING BY THE CITY NOT REQUIRED |
