05/22/2018 | FIRE - FINAL | Partial Approval | 1) The fire alarm drawings were very specific and sited the following: NFPA 72, 2010, 18.5.4.3.6* If ceiling heights exceed 30 ft. (9.14 m), ceiling mounted visible notification appliances shall be suspended at or below 30 ft. (9.14 m) or at the mounting height determined using the performance based alternative of 18.5.4.5, or wall mounted visible notification appliances shall be installed in accordance with Table 18.5.4.3.1 (a) 2) We will need to re-test the fire alarm shot down of the two (2) BAF (Big ass fan) that were not working properly. 3) Fire pump room needs to be rewired: NFPA 20, 2013, 10.3.1 Equipment. All equipment shall be suitable for use in locations subject to moderate degree of moisture, such as a damp basement. NFPA 20, 2013, 10.3.3 Enclosures. 10.3.3.1 The structure or panel shall be securely mounted in as a minimum, a National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) Type 2 , drip proof enclosure(s) or an enclosure with an ingress protection (IP) rating of IP31 3) Emergency and Exit lights will be tested once they are all properly installed and operational 4) Exit lights: IFC 2012, [B] 1011.1 Where required. Exit and exit access doors shall be marked by an approved exit sign readily visible from any direction of egress travel. The path of egress travel to exits and within exits shall be marked by readily visible exit signs to clearly indicate the direction of egress travel in cases where the exit or the path of egress travel is not immediately visible to the occupants. Intervening means of egress doors within exits shall be marked by exit signs. Exit sign placement shall be such that no point in an exit access corridor or exit passageway is more than 100 ft. (30 480 mm) or the listed viewing distance for the sign, whichever is less, from the nearest visible exit sign. 5) Means of Egress Illumination [B] 1006.2 Illumination level. The means of egress illumination level shall not be less than 1 foot-candle (11 lux) at the walking surface. 6) Address: Full address shall be on the building minimum of 15" 7) KNOX boxes ordered for all outside doors, KNOX caps for the FDC's and KNOX lock for the electronic gates |

These are only notes regarding pump house deficiencies: 1) Need to verify the exhuast fan on north side of building is working. 2) Pump room needs suitible means to maintain temp >40* F. 3) Needs a permit for the fuel tank. 4) NFPA 70 695.6 Power Wiring (D) Pump Wiring. All wiring from the controllers to the pump motors shall be in rigid metal conduit, intermediate metal conduit, electrical metallic tubing, liquidtight flexible metal conduit, or liquidtight flexible nonmetallic conduit Type LFNC-B, listed Type MC Cable with an impervious covering, or type MI cable. 5) NFPA 70 695.6 Power Wiring (I) Junction Boxes (4) AS a minimum, a Type 2, drip-proof enclosure (junction box) shall be used where installed in the fire pump room. The enclosure shall be listed to match the fire pump controller enclosure type rating. |
