An existing permit or approved plans were not found and the system needs to be evaluated to determine if it is designed as a Manual Fire Alarm System for the area served. The occupant load of the building housing classrooms # 1,2,3 and 5 is 118, The occupant load of the building housing classrooms # 6,7,8,9,10,11,12 and 13 is 274. These classrooms are used M - F for a private school K-12 and therefor fall under the occupancy class of E, as it is a private school that has leased the church's buildings for occupation and operations. Because each classroom has at least one exit directly to the outside, it falls out of the code requirements for a sprinkler system, however this school does require an APPROVED fire alarm system. Fire watch is currently being provided for up to 30 days while it is being determined if it is an approved manual fire alarm system that needs to be serviced or if it needs to be replaced. |
