10/31/2016 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved 10/17/16: Supervisors Saldate and Romero along with TFD Jeff Langeans conducted an on site inspection associated with a chemical spill. On site discussion with abutting neighbors and with owner (David Karmel). Inspection found a very strong odor possibly a Creosote odor. Also found evidence of a chemical concentration on the rear along property line and across alley along the wall of rear neighbor. Alley entry in to rear yard also had strong odor and lesser signs of chemical but did notice strong odor. Appears that someone dumped chemical (possibly workers who rehabbing house) in the rear yard with attempts to spread out and cover.

Owner was issued a 24-hour NOV on site with instructions to hire a licensed Chemical testing company to identify the chemical. Once identified, disposal with be based on the requriements associated with disposal of identified chemical.
10/31/2016 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved 10/18/16: Supervisor Romero conducted on site assesment and discussed progress. Owner has hired SouthWest Hazard to conduct testing of chemical and waitng for assesment results. At this time an extension is granted. Owner must continue to communicate with TFD Hazmat and CE.
