Received call from Rick Saldate the supervisor and T.P.D. on site with a case with no water to the house due to leaks and addition built. Arrived and T.P.D. was on site assisiting County Attorney's office to vacate the propety. Was given permission from the owner of the property to check the property and found where the water was being turned off at the house connection due to leaks on the interior water pipes. The water was leaking in the washroom where the pipes were leaking. The cooler has no water and not able to hold water due to the bottom of the cooler was rusted out and would leak water if water turned on to cooler. The temperature of the exterior of the house was 110 degrees and the interior of the house was at 98.3 to 98.6. The owner did have fans on with that temperature on the interior of the house. The house was lacking smoke detectors and the security bars on the window were lacking the quick release devices on the bedroom which had casement windows. One bedroom was full of storage items in the room from the floor to about 5' in height. The other 2-bedrooms were cluttered and windows were blocked off to escape in the event of an emergency to the exterior. The roof leaks in the kitchen and where the cooler exist on the roof. The property belongs to the State of Arizona and was the property to change the locks when they found the occupants. Did have extension cords going to the rear building which was used as storage and some one has been staying in the area. Did call the supervisor Rick Saldate to go over the case and was given permission to condemn the property due to lacking water to the property due to leaks in the pipes, no cooling, security bars not able to open in the event of an emergency in bedrooms and other issues. Did meet with the occupants to let them know that the property is being condemned and will not be able to stay in the house any more. They will be given time to remove the items out when arrangement are made. Did the paper work of Notice of Violation Notice of Emergency Abatement and Order To Vacate and the Notice of Violation. The paper work was given to the occupant due to the property was to be vacant at the time of the inspection and the State of Arizona rep. was stating that they were given time to remove the items out a while back. The occupant Hilda George did sign the paper work and found a place to stay. Other agency were on site to assist on placement of the occupant and the care of the grandsons. Once the occupants were ready to leave the site, the City of Tucson contractor Arcaiden Industries was called to site to have the property secured. The electrical was removed at the meter leaving no power to the property. The water was off at the house valve on the east side of the house. The house was posted on the front door of "Unfit to Occupy, Do Not Enter". All the door openings were secured with pins, screws or plywwod. The windows all have security bars and secured at this time. Occupant will call at time to meet tomorrow to get some items out and bring a moving company to look at the property. RV. |
