MET ON SITE WITH OFFICER VANNORMAN, SHE EXPLAINED THAT RED CHEVY AVEO BLEW A RED LIGHT HEADING NORTH ON CHERRY AVE, HIT A BLUE FORD FUSION DRIVING EAST ON BROADWAY CAUSING THE FUSION TO VEER LEFT THRU THE 3FT BLOCK WALL - CHAINLINK FENCE AND INTO THE BUILDING. REALIZED UPON ARRIVAL THAT THE PROPERTY WAS A CITY OWNED PROPERTY. FINDINGS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
>HISTORIC STRUCTURE WAS SECURED BY BOARD UP AND FENCED WITH 6 FT CHAIN LINK FENCE COMPLETELY AROUND THE PROPERTY. UTILITIES HAD BEEN TURNED OFF.
>FRONT 3 FT BLOCK WALL WITH 3 FT CHAIN LINK ON TOP OF WALL DAMAGED FOR ABOUT 14- 16 LINEAL FT.
>CAR HIT FRONT RED BRICK/ STUCCO PILLAR AND WIND WALL. WALL PORTION DISPLACED, BASE OF COLUMN HAD RED BRICK DSPLACED AND COLUMN SHOWED CRACKING AT BOTH SOUTH AND WEST ARCHWAYS.
CLEANED UP ALL DEBRIS FROM THE SIDEWALK AND CURB AREA, PUT TOP RAIL FOR FENCE BACK IN PLACE, PULLED CHAINLINK BACK ACROSS THE OPENING AND PLACED CAUTION TAPE ACROSS THE BOTTOM AREA (OPENING) WERE BLOCK WAS DISPLACED.
CONTACTED RISK MANAGEMENT, SPOKE WITH MARTHA CASTRO, WHO TOOK CODE ENFORCEMENT CASE NUMBER, TPD CASE NUMBER, MY CONTACT INFORMATION, AND OFFICER INFORMATION. MARTHA STATED SHE WOULD SEND A INSPECTOR FROM RISK MANAGEMENT TO THE PROPERTY. I DID RECEIVE A CALL FROM A RISK MANAGEMENT INSPECTOR THAT HE WAS GOING OUT TO THE PROPERTY, GAVE HIM A DETAIL OF WHAT HAPPENED.
SPOKE WITH RICK SALDATE, RICK STATED CASE COULD BE CLOSED AFTER ALL INFO FOR RISK MANAGEMENT HAD BEEN INCLUDED. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE.
