02/09/2016 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved Inspector Martin Lopez called that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and the fire units were still working the fire. Did have an addition and porch in the rear of the house that have burned to the ground level. The main structure is a total lost and the roof has fallen in or is lacking. The electrical has been removed at the pole due to the main electrical service was involved in the fire in the rear of the house and the tri-plex was burned. The gas meter has been pinned in the alley and the water is off at the meter at the valve in the front by the sidewalk. Did make contact with the owners of the property and they met at the site. The property is a rental and the tenants were assisted by Redcross. The owner signed all the paper work and gave permission to have the property secured due to not able to find anyone to secure the property. Did advised the owners that no one should enter the interior of the house due to the roof has fallen in. Will need to get a contractor to check the damage or someone stating thats it's OK to enter the house with a letter or stablizing the structure. Did call Arcaiden Industries to the property to have all the openings secured to not allow anyone into the structure. Did the posting of "Do Not Enter" on the front on the plywood on one of the window openings. Did have to wait for some time due to the fire kept re-starting and the fire investigation kept changing with different findings. Once given the clearance to secured the property all the openings were secured. Did lock all the openings on the gates with city locks. While waiting did ask several times if the board crew should leave and come back later and was told that they were waiting for the prosecutor to call to check of the property could be secured due to wanting to investigate later in the daylight hours. Will check in 60 days. RV.
