02/08/2016 | INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE | Approved | Went to the property with inspector Rick Hollander and had no burning smell at the time of the inspection. The tenants had removed 2-outlets on the south wall in the living room where a supply vent had been covered and a box has been built to extend the supply air to the living room area. Did check the dinning room and they have done the same thing on that side. The box extending the area has wiring inside the boxed area with the 2-outlets where they have extended the exisiting outlet on the wall to the framed area building the box. The tenants are stating that the smoke was coming from the vent that supplies the air to the living and dinning room area and more from the living room area. The basement has new or added romex wiring with old wiring the is cut or not being used due has been replaced with new. They have J-boxes and sub-panels that do not have the property connectors needed at the entry into the boxes to hold the wiring in place or protect from getting damaged from sharp edges or being scraped. Have not been able to make contact with the owner and will be doing an N.O.V. RV. |
