Received call from communication that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and the units were cleaned up and leaving the site. The fire investigators on site checking for cause. The fire was in the kitchen area over the stove. The fire burned the wood beams and wood siding on the ceiling area. The plaster walls and ceilings heat or burnings around the stove. The wood cabinets have burning or smoke damage over the stove area. The range exhaust hood is a total lost. Has water damage to the VCT tile floor in the kitchen and the rear spare room. The electrical meter was pulled by T.E.P. due to the damage of the fire and the tenants complaining of arcing in the outlets and the light fixtures through out. The main structure is OK but due to lacking the electrical to the house, the tenants will not be able to remain in the house. The gas forced air furnace needs to be checked for maintenance and parts hanging out with the cover not in place on the upper section. Did do the posting of "Do Not Enter" on the front window. The fire investigator did ask if they needed a place and they stated that they have a place to stay. The tenant did lock the property and the front gate and has dogs that are loose. Did find out that the property is under Section 8 and have not been able to make contact with the owner. Will call Section 8 to let them know and for the owner to call back due to left messages. Will check in 30 days. RV. |
