10/27/2015 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved Received call from Rick Mendoza that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and the property had gone into crime scene and was waiting for a warant. The fire was started in the garage area which is a total lost and burned into the door ways to the main house and the rear bathroom. The electrical meter has been removed by T.E.P. and the gas meter was pinned. Was not able to complete the line testing for gas leaks to the house but was able to completed the survey of the surrounding properties. The neighbor property was checked on the gas meter to determine if the other line needed to be checked. The neighbors gas meter passed the line test and the interior of the house was checked with some correction on the gas furnace. S.W.G. will be checking the gas meter tomorrow morning on this house due to not able to get into the property and the gas meter is behind the house. The front windows were blown out and the sliding glass door was broken. The exterior doors were having trouble locking due to missing or damaged during the fire. Due to the fire and T.P.D. investigation, I did received another call for a fire and left the site to take care the fire. Arrived back to the site and was given permission to start securing the rear of the unit. Due to the occupant was transported to the hospital and not able to make contact with the owner, Arcaiden Industries was call to the property to have the house secured. All the openings were secured except a couple of 6020 XO to allow some lighting into the house. While in the process of boarding up the house, the owner did show and did meet with him to go over what was being done to secure the house. The owner was talking to the insurance company and was told to have the vehicle in front secured and not move it from the property. The owner gave permission to have the vehicle fenced off and the vehicle was secured due to the damage done from the fire. Biff Baker Fencing was called to the property and fence panels were placed around the truck only with placing a gate opening in the front to remove the vehicle. Did discuss on leaving the front door opened to allow the owner to enter the property and when the investigation was completed was going to lock the door and the owner was going to find the key to open the door tomorrow or the next day. Did take pictures and did the posting of "Do Not Enter" on the front window. Did go over the owner able to enter the property and if someone else on the property and the owner not present, the owner has to be aware that someone is on the property. Once the investigation was completed, the front door was locked. The property was secured and left the site. Will check in 60 days. RV.
