10/08/2015 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | Received call from communication that T.F.D. on site with a broken sprinkler head. Arrived and the units were still on site and were working on trying to remove some of the water down floor drains and floor sinks. The sprinkler head was broken by the women bathroom on the 4th floor. The head was hit with a vacum cleaner hose when opening the door. The water was going down the floor of the hallway and going into offices, storage rooms, work areas, phone rooms, janitor closets and down the stair way. The security guard was on site with the cleaning crew with a crew working on the roof. All the power was off when arriving to the site. The fire units did clear the site and the maintenance crew were going to start cleaning the water through out. Did have an electrical engineer on site that is working for the owner of the building and was able to turn the power back on to the 6th, 5th and forth floor. Did leave the power off to the 3rd floor due to the water was still dripping. Than the power was turned back on to the 1st and 2nd floor. The owner did order cleaning crews to be called to help on the extracting of the water. The engineer did get in contact with United Fire to have the sprinkler head replaced and the sprinkler system back on line. Did have a trouble light on the fire panel due to the power was off on the 3rd floor. Did have a contractor on site that will be looking at removing the carpet tiles once direction given due to the amount of water on the carpet tiles. Once the fire system back on line did call communication to let them know to notify T.F.D. that the system was back on. Did leave the scene at that time and will check in the afternoon. RV. |
