08/25/2015 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved WHILE CONDUCTING INSPECTION ACROSS THE STREET FROM THIS LOCATION I NOTICED A LARGE AMOUNT OF WATER FLOW FROM THE PROPERTY. I APPROACHED THE PRESIDENT OF THE HOA AND A MAN WHO WORKED FOR THE PLUMBIMG CONTRACTOR WHO HOLDS THE SERVICE CONTRACT ON THE PROPERTY. THEY TURNED OFF THE WATER LINE AT THE METER TO SEE IF THE WATER LEAK WAS THEIRS OR THE NEIGHBORING PROPERTY. THE WATER LEVEL DECREASED INDICATING IT WAS ON THEIR MAIN WATER LINE. I CONTACTED MY SUPERVISOR M.R. WHO WAS IN THE AREA AND HE STOPPED BY THE PROPERTY. UNDER HIS SUPERVISION THE PLUMBING COMPANY ACCELERATED THEIR PLAN TO FIX THE PIPE BY 24 HOURS. THE AMMOUNT OF WATER LOSS WAS EXTENSIVE. PICTURES WERE TAKEN BY MYSELF AND MY SUPERVISOR AT THIS TIME. SUPERVISION LEFT AND I REMAINED FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER. I TOLD THE PLUMBER TO GET A PERMIT, THIS WAS AT APPROX 1210 PM. THE PLUMBER LEFT TO PICK UP ADDITIONAL MANPOWER AND TOOLS AFTER HE CALLED IN AN EMERGENCY BLUE STAKE. I MET WITH SOUTHWEST GAS AT APROX 1230 AND WE DISCUSSED THE SITUATION. I THEN LEFT TO CONDUCT MY OTHER INSPECTIONS WITH INSTRUCTIONS BY MY SUPERVISION TO RETURN BY 3PM FOR AN UPDATE.
08/25/2015 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved Received a call from supervisor Martin Romero that Dan was on site with a broken water line. Arrived and the plumber was on site and the main 2 1/2" PVC has a break on the water line at the driveway to the property for several units on the east side. The repair had been made and the water was back on to all the units on the property. Did have the president for the H.O.A. and he signed the paper work for work with out permit due to a permit is required for the work done. The plumber was on site and the owner was trying to get the permit for the repairs. The area was blocked off with caution tape and barricades. The hole was covered with plywood and the dirt was used to bank the opening to prevent the water going into the hole. Will check on the permit tomorrow. Will check in 10 days. RV.
