Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a cooler fire. Arrived and the units have cleared the site and the owner of the property was waiting to show where the fire was located. The fire was in a garage being used as storage room for the owner and detached from the main house. The fire was on the east side of the garage in the middle section. Items that were on the self burned and going into the trusses. The door on the east side was kicked in. The garage has a water heater in the north side of the garage and was lacking the drain line to the T.P.R. valve to the exterior. The vent pipe was not connected to the roof to vent properly. The gas was turned off to the water heater due to the damage of the fire. Did find a vent pipe for the drainage system that has melted in the attic space. Has florescent lights bulbs that fell on the floor from the ceiling area of the opened trusses. The fire was contained to the middle section of the east side of the garage. The garage was able to lock and done by the owner. All the electrical has been turned off to the garage and the owner doing a lock out. The owner is a electician and will check the damage in the morning when there is daylight to see. The owner signed all the paper work. The trusses have some burning on some of the trusses and will need to have someone look at the trusses if they are going to remain and will require paper work stating that the trusses can remain with the damage they have from an engineer or architect. The occupants of the house are able to remain in the house once the power was turned back on. Did check the house and all OK. Will check in 45 days. RV. |
