SPOKE WITH RICK SALDATE WHO AGREES AT THIS TIME, CODE ENFORCEMENT HAS NO FURTHER ISSUES WITH MR MASTROSIMONE AND THAT CODE ENFORCEMENT HAS NO FURTHER ISSUES. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE
06/03/2015 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved VISITED SITE WITH INSPECTOR DAN INGRAM, MET WITH OWNER MARIO AND EXPLAINED THE REASON FOR OUR INSPECTION. EXPLAINED THAT WE WERE AWARE OF PERMITS FOR THE NEW STAIRS AND BALCONEY, THAT I HAD COVERED INSPECTIONS FOR THE COFFEE SHOP COMPLAINTS AND UNDERSTAND THAT THE COFFEE SHOP MEETS CODE AND WAS ISSUED A C/O. MENTIONED TO MARIO THAT WE WERE TOLD A NEW BUSINESS WAS BEING ADDED UPSTAIRS AND THAT DEMOLITION OF THE UPSTAIRS HAD BEEN COMPLETED. MARIO ALLOWED ENTRY TO THE 2ND FLOOR WHERE WE FOUND PLANS/PERMITS FOR THE STAIRS/BALCONEY AND ATTACHED WAS A PRELIMINARY DRAWING FOR THE 2ND FLOOR APARTMENT REMODEL AND PLAN WAS STAMPED THAT IT HAD BEEN REVIEWED BY DSD ON 5/06/2015. DEMOLITION OF THE 2ND FLOOR WAS COMPLETED, NEATLY AND WELL DONE, AND FOUND NO IMMENENT HAZARDS. I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH HOW THINGS WERE DONE AND THERE WERE NO BEARING WALLS ON THE INTERIOR OF THE 2ND FLOOR. ASKED MARIO ABOUT THE YOGA STUDIO IN THE REAR, WE FOUND THAT THE EXISTING GARAGE HAD BEEN CONVERTED INTO A YOGA STUDIO, GARAGE DOOR REMAINED BUT INTERIOR OF THE GARAGE DOOR HAD BEEN FRAMED OVER AND DOOR ROLLER FRAMES REMOVED AND DOOR OPENER/MOTOR REMOVED. OWNER STATED THAT DSD HAD OK'ED THE CONVERSION BUT COULD NOT REMEMBER WHO HE HAD SPOKEN WITH AT DSD. CONTACT INFORMATION WAS PROVIDED TO OWNER MARIO MASTROSIMONE.
** LATER MET WITH WITH JOHN BEALL, RUSSELYN WELLS, AND MICHAEL ST.PAUL. JOHN BEALL WAS AWARE OF COMPLAINTS INCLUDING THE YOGA STUDIO AND MENTIONED IF THE YOGA STUDIO REPLACED THE GARAGE A PARKING ISSUE WAS NOW CREATED AND PARKING FOR THE RESIDENCE WAS TAKEN AWAY. MICHAEL ST PAUL STATED A PERMIT WAS NEVER SECURED AND CONFIRMED THE PARKING ISSUE, ALSO STATED A PERMIT COULD BE OBTAINED BUT NOT PROBABLE AND EXPLAINED WHY. HE ALSO HEARD OF THE YOGA STUDIO COMPLAINT AND HAD BEEN QUESTIONED BY THE OWNER ABOUT ADDING THE STUDIO BUT DID NOT AGREE WITH WHAT NEED TO BE DONE TO COMPLY WITH THE PARKING ISSUE. FINALLY MET WITH RICK SALDATE AND MIKE WYNYKEN AND DETERMINED THAT A NOV WOULD BE ISSUED FOR WORK WITH OUT PERMIT / CONVERTING THE GARAGE TO A YOGA STUDIO.
