03/25/2015 | INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE | Approved | Communication called that the fire watch was being lifted and the investigators wanted to be called. Did call the fire station and received no answer. Did call communication back due to not able to make contact with the fire station. Was than directed to call T.P.D. and talk to Dave and went over that I was in route to the fire. Arrived and the fire watch was lifted and the building was turned over to building safety. Did take pictures and Biff Baker Fencing was called to the site and blocked off the entire front of the building due to has an unstable beam on the second floor. Did use 9-panels and left a gate opening. Did go through the units not effected by the fire to check if the power could be turned back on. Was able to turn on the power to 20203, 20103, 20105. Units 20106 and 20205 were vacant and at this time will remain off and will require a reconnect permits. Units 20201 and 20202 were burn outs for total lost. Units 20101 and 20102 have water damage and burning in the front of the units. The partion at the roof on top of the beam on the second floor did fall during the fire over the walkway. The roof over the walkway is burned out and going into the unit. The walkway is not able to be used due to the damage. The water heaters are burned with the storage rooms on the second floor. 4-units were affected with the fire and met with the management for the bottom unit were was occupied to wait until tomorrow to go into the unit to get items out. Worried that the ceilings will fall due to the water damage. Maintenance was called to shut the water off to the unit upstair due to the water was leaking at the water heater and not able to stop the water from coming out due to the fitting unsoldered. The main shut off for the water has to be worked on due to not stopping the water and had to change the washer to the valve. Once changed the water stopped. Biff Baker Fencing did show and the front of the structure was fenced off leaving a gate on the side and the maintenance installed their own chain and lock. TEP was called back to the site and power was restored to the units not involved in the fire. The meter were removed for the units that were involved with the fire. The other meters were booted that were vacant or lacking payments. Met with the manager and she signed all the paper work. She was still dealing with Red Cross at the property for placement of the tenants that were removed from the fire. Management was directed to not let anyone in until a contractor has check the structure and declare that it safe to move items out of the units on the bottom. The upper units not much can be salvaged. Will check in 60 days. RV. |
