09/15/2016 ENGINEERING - FINAL Approved I MET WITH THE ENGINEER OF RECORD AND THE CONTRACTOR ON SITE TO DISCUSS THAT ISSUES AT HAND. THE ADA RAMP HAS BEEN REOVED AND REPOURED AND IS LESS THAN 2% IN THE CROSS SLOPES AND OVER 5% IN THE RUNNING SLOPE. THEY HAVE COMPLETED THE HANDRAILS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE RAMP AT THIS TIME.

THE OTHER ITEM THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY ADDRESSED IS THE ROOF DOWN DRAINS THAT DUMP WATER ONTO THE PEDESTRIAN REFUGE AREA ALONG THE LENGTH OF THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING(GARAGE DOOR AREAS). BOTH OF THE DRAINS DEPOSIT WATER INTO THE REFUGE AREA WHICH IS AGAINST OUR CODE. I HAVE ADVISED THE E.O.R. AND THE CONTRACTOR THAT I CAN NOT PASS THIS MYSELF BUT IF THE REVIEWERS AND THE BUILDING OFFICIAL AGREE THAT THE QUANTITY OF WATER DOES NOT AFFECT THE PEDESTRIAN AREA THEN THEY CAN DIRECT ME TO CLEAR THIS SITE.

THIS INSPECTION HAS BEEN APPROVED AS DIRECTED BY THE REVIEW STAFF STEVE SHIELDS AND LOREN MAKUS PER THE FOLLOWING E-MAILS SENT ON THE ATTACHED DATES.
STEVE SHIELDS: After review of the video I am comfortable with this. Please close the inspections so that the C of O can be issued.

LOREN MAKUS: Steve, Kevin shared the video of the roof drain with me and I am comfortable with the pedestrian path remaining essentially floods free under these circumstances.
Thank you Loren >>> Loren Makus <loren.makus@tucsonaz.gov> 09/15/2016 3:31 PM >>>
08/09/2016 ENGINEERING - FINAL Denied THE FOLLOWING ITEMS STILL NEED TO BE ADDRESSED:
1) THE WHEELCHAIR ACCESS RAMP FOR THIS SITE DOES NOT MEET THE MAXIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SLOPES(BOTH RUNNING AND CROSS SLOPES) IT EXCEEDS THE 2% CROSS SLOPE AND THE 9.33% RUNNING SLOPE.
2) RAIN LEADERS FROM THE ROOF DEPOSIT ROOF DRAINAGE DIRECTLY ON TO A PEDESTRIAN REFUGE AREA DIRECTLY ADJACENT TO THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING.
3) THE ASPHALT PAVEMENT FOR THE SITE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO CONCRETE WHICH NEEDS TO BE APPROVED AS A REVISION FOR THIS SITE.
I HAVE ADVISED THE ENGINEER OF RECORD AND THE SITE SUPERINTENDENT THAT THIS SITE WILL REQUIRE THAT REVISIONS ARE SUBMITTED AND APPROVED FOR ALL THE CHANGES THAT HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE SITE, AND WE WILL REQUIRE A CERTIFICATION LETTER FROM THE STAMPING ARCHITECT.
