| 03/26/2015 | FIRE SPKLR - UG PIPING FLUSH | Partial Approval | Sub contractor for the underground told me this morning that the pipe they had laid was actually 6 feet short of where it was supposed to be on the West side after the FDCS. They added and additional 6 feet of pipe ( verified the distance to the plans and they are now accurate. Because they added more pipe, they did a 2nd pressure test at 200 psi beginning at 7 AM. I recorded 200 psi at 10 AM. Instead of installing another valve on line to South, they capped it and flushed from the supply line running to the East that will connect in to the existing fire supply line that feeds the East sprinklered buildings. Good flow and flushed clean. Second flush performed on the line that will connect to the existing fire line running to the south, by shutting of valve to the East and using a 4 inch hose from the new pipe to a ditch. Good flow and ran clean. Still need to see: 1) thrust blocks at 90 degree angle and at connections. 2) still need to wrap joints 3) still need tracer wire ( has been taken off since last inspection to accomodate the length adjustment. |

| 03/20/2015 | FIRE SPKLR - UG PIPING FLUSH | Not ready for Inspection | Had 4 inch reduced to 1.5 inch for flush and I advised them they cannot flush out of anything less than 4 inches. Also, because this is on a loop, they need to flush at two places before they connect ( on plans). They are adding another valve on the 4 inch line that runs to the south. They will flush from there and then on the East side before they connect to both lines. Joints were not covered. Mega lugs are in place at current connections. Was tested at 200 for 2 hours. The actual was 202 psi for 5 hours. |
