Aug 12, 2014 update

Review update: proposal meets sign code allowance per 8/11/14 notations. Project was referred to Dr. Jonathan Mabry, City Historic Preservation Office (CHPO) and Ms. Linda Mayro, Director of Pima County Office of Sustainability & Conservation (PCOSC) for their consultation, per zoning Annexation Ordinance 9122 preservation requirements.

Both CHPO and PCOSC have responded the penetrations to the building are a concern for proper preservation of the historic structure. Should the applicant be able to demonstrate installation of signage will not damage the building (including for running power source), further review will be done for this proposal.

Resubmittal of drawings can be sent to sign code reviewer: Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov

SIGNS STAFF REVIEWED PROPOSAL, SIGNAGE MEETS SIGN CODE ALLOWANCES FOR SCENIC DISTRICT BUT MUST BE REVIEWED BY HISTORIC OFFICES DUE TO ANNEXATION ORDINANCE 9122, WHICH REQUIRES PRESERVATION OF HISTORIC JOESLER BLDGS ON SITE.
