| 07/02/2014 | SIGN SITE REVIEW | Correction Required | PERMIT T14OT00828 REVIEWER: HEATHER.THRALL@TUCSONAZ.GOV FOR: 2 NEW NON ILLU WALL SIGNS + 1 NEW DF SIGN (LETTER REPLACEMENT) AT: 3500 N CAMPBELL, GRAND CANYON UNIVERSITY THE FOLLOWING CODES APPLY TO THIS REVIEW: UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT CODE (UDC), INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE (IBC), SIGN CODE (SC) APPLICATION IS INCOMPLETE; THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE NEEDED FOR THE REVIEW TO CONTINUE AND DEPENDING UPON RESPONSES, FURTHER COMMENTS MAY BE FORTHCOMING. 1) Per A.R.S. 32-1121 A.4, in area noted on the sign permit application, provide valuation of the signage, including install. Note, should valuation, including install, exceed $1000.00, a licensed contractor will be required to submit this permit, obtain the permit and conduct the installation. 2) Per SC 3-18, 3-32, 3-77, specify if the tenant is taking part of or the entire building (looks like there's a shared freestanding sign with other tenant space). If the tenant is taking just a part of the building, use the length of the building wall facing the street. Frontage for an interior tenant would be the length of the building wall where the public enters. If the tenant is occupying the entire building and is the only tenant on the site, the frontage is the lot line along Campbell. Revise location map with "frontage" notations accordingly. 3) plans are not legible with the small print provided. Revise all drawings to increase the type to a legible size that can be scanned for records: 12 point type minimum. Note that further review comments may be forthcoming, depending upon the information noted. 4) SC 3-18, for all signs identify the elevation that the diagram is showing the proposed installed signage on. 5) SC 3-18, for all signs - call out the total sign area for each sign on the plans in total square footage and use feet in decimals. (again some of this print is so small it cannot be read) 6) SC 3-18, For sign 1/A - identify the type of wall you're mounting to and the type of fasteners needed. MONUMENT SIGN COMMENTS; 7. Acknowledged existing monument sign structure. Proposal to change out letters on structure. Height of letters can determine the setback of the sign. Proposal is in white lettering that is not legible in the provided photo. Please dimension the height to the top of the lettering and note the current setback for the sign from the face of the street curb so that the information can be reviewed and scanned in for records. EMAIL REVIEWER WITH QUESTIONS OR TO PROVIDE REVISIONS. |
