***NOTE, last submittal 7/7/14 by email included 2 different sets of plans and a special inspection certificate. Differences in color, drawing date and location map were noted. Staff emailed contractor for clarification on which set to review and the need for revised engineering. Review proceeded without response from contractor with both sets being examined. ***

1) Design Review Committee (DRC) for Main Gate Urban Overlay District approved the proposed signage on Monday, June 9, 2014. ***COMMENT REMAINS FROM LAST REVIEW: Provide notation on plans "signage shall be installed per applicable City of Tucson codes and per criteria approved by Main Gate -Urban Overlay District D.R.C. on June 9, 2014."***

2) Per SC 3-77, Project is in General Business District of the Sign Code. On sign location sheet, provide street frontage along Tyndall Ave for the site and to show for records the total allowed sign area is based upon, and within allowance of, 3 x street frontage. Note, Development Package dp12-0816, sheet A001 lists the street frontage along 1st street as 183.42 linear feet, and along Tyndall Av the frontage is 173'6". (Understood total sign area proposed and listed per prior permit for an undercanopy sign are fully within total sign area allowance for the site thus far, information requested on plans is for records of code compliance). *** COMMENT REMAINS FROM LAST REVIEW: Revise 1st Street frontage***


3) Per IBC (Reviewer Eric Newcomb), sheet 9 of engineering calculations indicates 1 anchor, clarify if this number is the number of anchors per letter? Appears insufficient. (Does number of anchors mean number per letter? - Clarify) ***COMMENT REMAINS FROM LAST REVIEW - NO REVISED ENGINEERING WAS SUBMITTED WITH THE PLANS. PROVIDE AND ENSURE CALCULATIONS ARE SEALED BY ARCHITECT OR ENGINEER.***

4) Per OLC 403.5 Outdoor Lighting Controls. 403.5.1. The means of controlling the specific "off" curfew shall be by a 24 hour timing device that includes stand-by power to maintain the time and program for a minimum of 6 hours. *Provide notation a timer shall be provided*.

9) Per SC 3-23, Special inspection for this sign is required. Acknowledged the special inspection sheet has been turned in as of 6/24/14. However, name listed on special inspection certificate (John C Schneider) is not a listed and qualified special inspector for Epoxy Expansion Anchors per the approved list on file with Oro Valley/PC/COT listing for International Code Council certified inspectors. Have engineer assign an ICC approved inspector and send in a new special certificate with this information.
