06/18/2014 | SIGN SITE REVIEW | Correction Required | PERMIT T14OT00725 FOR: NEW WALL SIGN, PARTIALLY ILLUMINATED AT: 213 N 4TH AVE, "THE WAREHOUSE" REVIEWER: HEATHER.THRALL@TUCSONAZ.GOV 6/17/2014 THE FOLLOWING CODES APPLY: INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE (IBC), OUTDOOR LIGHTING CODE (OLC) NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE (NEC), SIGN CODE (SC), UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT CODE (U.D.C.) 1. Per SC 3-18 & 3-32 - on drawings and on the application, revise sign area to box around full extent of the sign - including the light fixtures on top and the chain hanging from the bottom. 2. Per SC 3-18 & NEC 600 - provide number of volts, amps, circuits, and label disconnect switch. 3. Per OLC 403.5.1 The means of controlling the specific "off" curfew shall be by a 24 hour timing device that includes stand-by power to maintain the time and program for a minimum of 6 hours. - Provide notation a timer will be provided. 4. Per OLC 501 - provide OLC reviewer with information how the exposed light source complies with the OLC. (i.e. review the lamp source, shielding requirements, color temperature, and lumen caps of Chapter 4.) Contact OLC reviewer, LeeRay.Hanly@tucsonaz.gov or at -837-4906 with any questions. 5. Per 3-53. No sign shall be permitted that is animated by any means, including flashing, scintillating, blinking, or traveling lights, or any other means not providing constant illumination. Provide notation on plans the lighting will not blink nor flash, and will provide constant illumination. 6. Historic review may be required due to the building's location in the downtown area and being within the National Registered Warehouse District. Signs staff is researching this aspect, be advised. 7.
