11/03/2014 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | VISITED SITE, UPON ARRIVAL FOUND TFD HAD CLEARED THE BUILDING, ALL PERSONS ASKED TO CONGREGATE AT THE N/W END OF THE STRUCTURE. I WAS ALLOWED INSIDE THE STRUCTURE BY TFD FRED BAER, AND WALKED TO SECOND STORY WHERE WE MET TFD INSPECTOR JOHN BIEG. SPOKE WITH TUCSON WATER SANDY ELLER, JONN COSTELLO, AND MARK JEFFERS WHO WALKED ME THRU THE DATA/ COMPUTER/ SERVER AREA. THEY EXPLAINED TO ME THAT ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES SMELLED AND SAW SMOKE COMING FROM THE SERVER POWER DISTRIBUTION BATTERY UNITS. EVERYONE LEFT THE ROOM AND THE HAYLON SYSTEM WAS ACTIVATED. THE SERVER WAS NOT PROPERLY SHUT DOWN, MARK JEFFERS AND JOHN COSTELLO FIGURED OUT HOW TO DO THAT AND THEN PROPERLY SHUT THE POWER DOWN TO THE SERVER (ON BACK UP BATTERY POWER) MARK AND JOHN ALSO FOUND OUT WHO WORKS ON THEIR POWER/ INSTALL WORK AND SABINO ELECTRIC WAS CONTACTED TO CHECK OUT THE PROBLEM. TFD THEN EXPLAINED HOW THE HAYLON SYSTEM WORKED AND THAT THE SYSTEM MAY NEED TO BE CHANGED OUT AT THIS POINT DUE TO HAYLON NO LONGER BEING AVAILABLE. THEN MET WITH TUCSON WATER SAFETY PERSON ALAN TARKETT WHO STATED THEY WERE WORKING ON ALLOWING THE FIRST AND THIRD FLOOR PERSONAL BACK INTO THE AREA AFTER THE REQUIRED TIME OF 2HRS FOR THE HAYLON TO CLEAR AND IN THE MEAN TIME WERE BRINGING FANS INTO THE AREA TO HELP CLEAR THE DOOR AND OPENED WINDOWS AND DOORS TO MOVE AIR QUICKER. A NOTICE WAS ISSUED TO TUCSON WATER BY TFD TO HAVE THE HAYLON SYSTEM CHECKED. ** LATER CAME BACK TO REINSPECT THE AREA, PER MARTIN ROMERO, MET AGAIN WITH ALAN TARKETT WHO MENTIONED THAT FIRST AND TIRD FLOOR WERE REOCCUPIED AND LATER AFTER ABOUT 2 1/2 HRS THE SECOND FLOOR WAS REOCCUPIED BUT THAT FANS REMAINED IN THE AREA AND AND WINDOWS AND DOORS REMAIN OPEN. TUCSON FIRE CAME BACK TO RECHARGE THE SPRINKLER SYSTEM AND SABINO ELECTRIC REMOVED THE 3 BATTERIES, REPLACED ONE BAD BATTERY, BUT REINSERTED ALL THREE BATTERIES. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE. |
