09/23/2014 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | Met owner, tenant, and repair person on site for Unit 704: Laundry closet had 30 amp subpanel connecting a dryer 240 outlet and extra 15/20 amp outlet which then threaded through wall to main panel on east side connecting to a 20 amp breaker which is in turn double lugged to a another separate circuit. This outlet lacks coverplate and appears to have been installed upside down; the laundry closet also has a newly added 15/20 amp circuit feed via same wall from main panel connecting to an non-gfci outlet in kitchen; the conduit is not rated for electrical and is connected to another double lugged 30 amp breaker in panel. Conductors in laundry room have not been installed to code and lack either correct conduit or wire support. 3 breakers are double lugged in main panel; breakers are of different manufacture; dead front is missing; entry into wall via knockout lacks gasket or required wire protection. No permit for added circuits for all three outlets terminating or passing through laundry room. Main panel for non-energized Unit 702 also has double lugged breakers, breakes of different manufacture, a dilapidated 30 amp breaker, and lack of dead front. Repairs will need to be made to bring electrical up to current adopted code under permit. | |
