08/14/2014 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | Arrived to a call for a car thru building and found that the resident has also been damaged. A cargo box truck had hit the masonry wall from next door and hit the house on the north side and damaged to the front entry way. The wood studs have been broken or pushed out including a fixed panel window next to the entry door. Had a hard time making contact with the owners and they were from Nogales. The owner did show and showed the damage to the house and were still not able to get into the house until the investigation was completed. Once the clearance was given the truck was pulled out and was able to check the damage. Approx. 16 l.f. was damaged and the owner had given permission to have the opening covered. The wall was a bearing wall with trusses in the middle of the structure. Bathcrest was call to have the opening have supports installed on the double plates where the studs have been removed and plywood covering the opening. The alarm for the house did go off and had to call the owner to get the code to have the alarm re-set. Did the posting of "Do Not Enter" on the front window and went over with the owner on how to get back into the house. The rear sliding glass door was screwed shut and leaving the sliding glass door opened for the owner to get back into the house. The owner signed all the paper work and left the site. The gas was removed at the side walk due to not able to have the survey and the line test done due to the investigation. The gas meter was nest to the vehicle and not able to get to the gas meter. The electrical panel was off and had to call T.E.P. back to have the meter Blanked off once the truck was removed. Will need to call for connection to have the gas and electric installed back on. Will check in 30 days. RV. |
