Received call from communication that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and the units were still checking for hot spots. The investigators were completing their investigation. The owner son was on site. The fire was an addition that was used as a game room. The fire was contained to that area only. The main house was OK. The gas meter has already been pinned due to the damage. The electrical was being removed until the power can be removed in the fire damaged area. T.E.P placed boots on the meter. Once the electrical has been removed the power can be turned back on with a clearance inspection approval. The fire damaged all the contents in the game room and the drywall. The wood framing was OK including the trusses. Some smoke did get into the main house area but is very light. On the other side of the game room has a garage workshop that has no damage. Did check the main house and has no damage from the fire except the door that leads to the game room where the door has burning on one side. The property has been condemned due to lacking power and gas and the fire damage area needs to be cleaned up. Once the power has been seperated from the fire damaged from the main house, the power can be turned back on once approved by Planning and Development Services Department. The son signed all the paper work and the posting was placed on the front window of "Do Not Enter". The dogs were left on the property. Took pictures and left the site. Will check in 10 days. RV. |
