THE FOLLOWING CODES ARE REFERENCED: SIGN CODE, NATIONAL ELECTIC CODE, INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE. THE PROJECT IS SUBJECT TO SIGN VARIANCE CASE S-00-05. Sign Code Review: (Heather Thrall) Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov 1) Acknowledged received a location map and revised site plans since submittal. Per 3-18 of the Sign Code, Provide site plan to a measurable scale (a close up view) of the area of the sign installation - show the proposed sign location with setbacks from face of each street curb, with sight visibility triangle. 2) Per inspection 10/16, there is a 10.5" difference between grade at base of the sign and the adjacent top of street curb. Per 3-33 of the Sign Code & Sign Code Administrator's ruling, sign height is measured from top of street curb for signsin within 40' of a roadway. Provide elevation drawing view showing height difference between grades and note the height from both the base of the sign and from the top of curb. Max sign height is allowed at 12' per variance S-00-05. N.E.C. (Eric Newcomb) 1) Acknowledged the symbol for a shut off switch is shown on the plan, but no shut off switch location is indicated. Indicate number of circuits. IBC/Structural Review: (Eric Newcomb) 1). Provide engineer's sealed drawing on one sheet - not separated into two sheets. 2) Provide engineer's calculations to support the sealed drawing. 3) Footer shown on color elevation rendering does not match engineer's drawing. |
