Responded to fire at unit #116, first floor. Unit interior has severe fire, smoke, and water damage to walls, ceiling, floors, and kitchen installation. TEP shut off electric to entire 8 unit building at transformer; main panel services all units and cover was unable to be secured once removed as it had been previously permanently secured with screws and painted shut. Gas service was also shut off to building. All units vacated; TFD contacted Red Cross for those families who will require a place to stay; the 7 undamaged units can be reoccupied once electric and gas service is re-established as non hazardous under permit and reactivated by utilities. Windows were in process of being boarded on damaged unit #116; electrician on site beginning to assess needed repairs. |
