11/23/2013 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | Visited site, met tenants on site, inspected, found as follows: electrical buse bar at termination for supply feed was loose and aching, dicussed power, tenant stated to me that maintainance had came by looked at it and stated that they could stay in unit,discussed options with the managemet and stated that they had a place to put them up but later found that the unit has no heat, no hot water and no cooking, I then explained the status of tenants being placed and that they had no authority to place them, I then called supervision and upon discusson would have them place for two days, arragements were made for the placement of the family, I then condemned unit and left power off, upon further inspection found that the main service dissconnect were in deteriorrated state and would require an upgrade for the service panel, an electrical contractor was contacted and I explained to him the requirements in securing permits, repair or replace sub panel and all inspections made prior to allowing tenants back into unit, took pictures and posted condemnation on door, asked the tenants if they had any place to stay for a couple of days and they did not. Also explained to mangement that if they could not put the tenants up that the City would have to establish a place, stated that they understood and that they would reimburse the City. They were put in a hotel for two days per supervision. |
