10/19/2013 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved Received call from communication that T.F.D. on site with a house fire and a car in the garage with explosion. Arrived and the fire was out and were looking for hot spots in the garage. The house had not been cleared to enter due to the carbon monixide levels had not been checked. The fire investigators are on the site and were waiting for clearance to enter the house and the garage to check for the cause. The owner of the property has been deployed and was aware of the fire and will be trying to get a flight back home to take care of the insurance issues and get the repairs started. The girl friend was living in the house and the sister of the owner has shown to the property and has been talking to the owner. The owner has given the girl friend info to call the insurance and got the insurance to get a company to have the opening to the garage boarded up. The clearance has been given to go into the house and the fire was in the garage with out going into the house except where the door was opened from the house to the garage area and did some burning and smoke damage to the ceiling and walls in the luandry room. Some smoke did go into the hallway with light smoke damage. The house portion has no fire damage except where looking for fire in the ceiling to check the attic and in the walls near the garage area. The kids and the girlfreind were given time to get items out of the house to go where they are going to stay with family freinds. The sister signed all the paper work and the owner is trying to get a flight back home some time tomorrow. Did the posting on the front window of "Do Not Enter" and the sister is waiting for the company to board up the garage door opening. Will check in 45 days. RV.
