Received call from Martin Romero my supervisor that T.F.D. has a building fire. Went to the office and got the packet for the case. Arrived and the fire was in the kitchen and the tenant was cooking with grease and the grease caught fire. The tenant went to the sink to put the fire out and the fire flashed and a sprkinkler head was above and went off. The fire was extingished and did light smoke damage to the ceiling in the kitchen area only. Did meet with the fire and the maintenance had turned off the sprinkler system and had water on the floor in the kitchen, living room and went into the hall and the bathroom. The complex had a cleaning crew to start the extraction process of the water being removed. The tenant did go with the daughter to stay the night and will come and check the site if the tenant can stay tomorrow in the unit. They did leave 2-fans inside the unit to dry the moisture. The sprinkler head was replaced while on site and the system was recharged and back on line. The neighbor was going to lock the unit. Met with the management and will meet tomorrow to check the unit on the moisture and has any other damage to the drywall on the ceiling and walls in the kitchen area. RV. |
