Received call from communication that T.F.D. on site with building fire. Arrived and all the units have cleared and met with the fire investigators. The fire was in the attic area in the kitchen area and found alot of wiring in the area. There is a steel metal ductwork for the hood that has heat damage and a hole in the ductwork. The trusses were burned and has a wood beam that has burning that supported the trusses. Drywall was pulled in the ceilings to check for fire in the room behind the kitchen area and was seperated with a wall and the fire did not go into that area that appreared to be used for preperation of the food. The dining area has no damage other than smoke. Some ceiling tiles were pulled down to check for fire. The owners of the business were on site and they signed the paper work. They were not able to secure the building and gave permission for the City of Tucson to have secured. Bathcrest was called to the site to secure the front door that was broken to gain entry into the building to get to the fire. The roof has disconnects that has romex that have been added to power other appliances on the roof. Found where electrical has been spliced and not in a junction box. The health department was on site and meeting with the owners of the business. A worker showed when leaving from the owner of the property to look at the damage. He looked at the damage and called the owner of the property to let him know what was damaged. Got the information and let the owner know that permits will be required for the repairs. Will check in 60 days. RV. |
