Received a call from communication that T.P.D. on site with a car through building. Arrived and the truck had made a U-turn and jump the median and went into the house. The truck hit the west wall into a bedroom and has cracks through out approx 20' out and on the north side approx. 8' out from the corner. The window has broken glass in a 6040 XO on the north side of the bedroom. The cracks on the west wall are part of the mechanical room for the furnac with AC coil and the water heater and the next bedroom. The other parts of the house are OK but not able to stay in the house due to the damage. Did let the owner know if the contractor doing the work wants to write a letter stating it's OK to stay in the house will need a copy of the letter for the file before staying in the house. The breaker to the room is the only power that has been turned off leaving all ther other power on to the other rooms. The owner gave permission to have the opening secured once the truck was pulled out. Bathcrest called to the site to have the opening secured. Secured the front window a 6040 XO, and 2-sheets to cover a 6' x 5' opening in a masonry wall. ID was called to the property for pictures and once the pictures completed the truck was pulled out the opening secured. The owner did leave the site to a friends house to stay. They will come back tomorrow to get other items out that will be needed. The chainlink fencing has been knocked down and let the owner know that the City of Tucson will not be securing the fence area and they have to take care of that. Will check in 45 days. RV. |
