Arrived and the fire units were finishing putting the fire out and the fire investigators were looking for the cause of the fire. The house has relatives living in the house and all are related to the owner of the property. The fire started in the storage room area that has the water heater, and the washer machine and the dryer with a refrigerator. The area for a carport has been enclosed into a bedroom and an addition to the rear bedroom has been extended. Those room has fire damage with heavy smoke. The power was removed at the meter and the gas meter was pinned due to the damage of the fire. The main gas line to the house was over the fire area and has heat damage. The exterior walls of the enclosed carport and the storage room was wood siding and has burned in different areas leaving holes. 2-vent holes were cut in the roof in the rear bedroom and storage room. The rafters and the sheathing have been burned or charred in the storage room area. The water heater, the refrigerator, washer and dryer have also been burned. The other parts of the house have smoke damage. Found openings where the windows were not able to lock. The owner was not coming to the site until after 5:00 PM and the sister gave permission to have the property secured. Called Bathcrest to have the property secured who was the city contractor for board ups. The owner showed up and went over on the family member showing back on the property and that no key was found to lock the front door. The owner changed the lock on the front door and now has a key. The Red Cross showed to the property for the placement of the family members. Took pictures and did the posting of "Do Not Enter" on the front windows. Will check in 45 days. RV.
