04/24/2013 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | Received call from communication that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and the units were cleaning up and clearing from the site. The fire investigators were on site and looking for the cause. The property is a vacant property and was unsecured. Found a stricker on one of the window opening that inspector Goodman has been on site and called and checked what the status is on the property. The property is under V.A.N.S. and the owner has died. The nephew is working with the program to have the property demo'ed. Did call Inspector Childress who handles the V.A.N.S. demo's and currently trying to send out to bid. Let him know that the structure has another fire and was on the site. Inspector Childress came to site to check the damage. Did call Bathcrest to have all the openings all secured or resecured. Re-did the posting of "Do Not Enter" on the front door and still has the posting on the side of the house to "Keep Vacant". The property has a large amount of trash and debris through out the exterior and in the interior of the house up chest height through out. The fire was mattress and found matches and candles near the area of the fire. Found food on some cabinets and was not old. This property has had several fires and the walls are adobe with plaster and stucco. The electrical has been removed at the pole at the last fire due to calls to the property by T.E.P. Found the gas riser on the ground from the last fire where it burned. Southwest has stated that no gas has been on the property for a long period of time. No water is on and not able to locate the meter. Took pictures and will referr to the V.A.N.S. program. Had inspector Hurd on site assisting. RV. |
