Received call from communication that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and the unit were done and waiting for the inspection. Had a fire in a fire place and the damper was closed and the smoke was going into the house. The fire department broke the front window in the kitchen area to gain entry to check for fire. Once the building was opened and the grate in the fire place was place out side with the burning material, only had smoke in the house. T.F.D. not able to locate some one in the house or a owner and Bathcrest called to the site to have the opening boarded up. Left the house opened until the board up to have the house aired out. While waiting, found a window guard on the window opening on the west side of the house which was for a bedroom and lacking a breakaway device. Will call the owner or who had the power re-stored to the house to check if the guard can be removed or a breakaway can be placed on the window guard if to remain. Once the opening was secured locked the doors and left a paper that we were on site. Will check in 5 days. RV. |
