10/16/2013 | FIRE - ALARM FINAL | Denied | Only tested horns/strobes throughout building with system activated, with plans check all placement of pull stations, horns/strobes. Found 1 bad horn/strobe this was replaced during testing. Still need to test all Saphires and dry-piping systems, tampers, flows, phone lines, battery loss, ground fault, missing devices, heats, duct smokes and smokes. When testing the first Saphire system the following was found and all others are the same: 1. Need signs post per IFC and Saphire requirements i. e. on entry door over pull station etc. 2. When the Saphire system was activated the main alarm horns/strobes were bypass - only a blue color strobe was inside the Saphire room no horn, you will need to have a horn for the Saphire system that is different them the main fire alarm system and has a count down and activated sound. 3. Will need to have an air loss calculation test done on the rooms were the Saphire are installed. 4. All ceiling tiles in Saphire rooms need to be tied down 5. All doors going in and out of the Saphire rooms need to be self-closing and latching 6. Need to change out all pull stations to the Saphire systems or install a sign above the pull stations, ID then as Saphire system cannot use a fire alarm pull station only this will be very confusing to people. |
